An offline oil filtration system cleans fluid in a side loop, drawing oil from the reservoir, filtering it and returning it while the machine runs. Because it sits outside the main circuit, it is not limited by system pressure or flow, so it can filter far finer than an in-line filter - down to 0.1 micron on Delta-Xero units.
